Here’s some Wednesday Wisdom: After breaking my fall into the asphalt with my face on Monday, I was struck by an interesting thought upon getting up: I already got hurt, endured the pain—I didn’t close my eyes as I watched the world turn upside down. Now that I already got up, I might as well try again while I’m on my feet because if i don’t, then I’m walking away from an opportunity to teach myself how to overcome fear—fear of failing and getting hurt. What motivation! Speed feels scary when I think about the impact, but the slower I go, the more likely I am to fall because I can feel every bump—so I should trust the speed? That’s it! If I don’t inhibit or resist the natural momentum of things, i can leverage and manipulate them. Maybe that’s how creativity works.
